Let Us Not Be Ashamed of the Word of Truth

For a Bible teacher, there is no clearer purpose statement or higher calling than the apostle Paul's words in Romans: "I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes." That same conviction ought to be the heartbeat of every man who steps into a pulpit, every time he opens the Word of God. It's an absolute confidence in the supreme power and sufficiency of biblical truth alone to transform lives.

Sadly, confidence in the sufficiency of Scripture has been steadily declining for several decades. Today, too many pastors and church leaders spend their time strategizing ways to adjust or adapt God's Word to worldly tastes rather than simply communicating it. In an effort to make the gospel more user-friendly, they soften or altogether skirt the hard and offensive biblical truths. They've transformed the worship service into a crass sideshow, substituting spiritural junk food for the meat of God's Word.

But we don't need to adorn, amend, or adjust the truth of Scripture for it to make an impact in lives, nor can we soften or reshape the gospel message so it appeals to more people. We simply need to preach it clearly and accurately. Multiple generations of believers are in a perpetual state of arrested spiritual developement because so many pastors majored on entertainment and technique and minored on biblical content. Let me say this plainly: if a pastor doesn't believe that God's Word is enough on its own, he has no business teaching it in the first place.

- John MacArthur

We need to stand against the seeker-sensitive, entertainment-oriented, people pleaser methods of preaching that permeate the church today. The Holy Spirit works through the Word of God only when it is not watered down or tampered with. It stands on its own. It even very clearly states that we should not add to or take anything away from it.

How can they hear if we say nothing?

Romans 10:14 (New International Version)

14How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

Help plant the seed so there will be a bountiful harvest! Psalm 126:6 "They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest". The seed we are to plant is the Word of God. The harvest is people going to heaven. There can be no more important thing in this world than winning souls to Christ.

Introduction of tgcnow.org

The Great Commission Now is a new organization that promotes the spread of the gospel to every nation, to every person of the world. Our mission is that every person in the entire world will know who Jesus Christ is from a true biblical perspective. Everyone deserves the chance to hear about the free gift. Jesus is the Truth, the Life and the Way. Let us put aside our doctrinal differences and focus our efforts on the real task at hand. Knowing Jesus and sharing Jesus with everyone. So that all might be saved through the grace of God. Now is the time.

The Great Commission NOW !

It is a beautiful world God created. But sin which came to the world through Satan's deception keeps us from having a right relationship with God. Jesus Christ is the solution to the sin problem.

This is the first day of a new site. The Great Commission NOW! We are dedicated to sending out the message of Jesus Christ to all the people of the world. This effort has been ongoing for nearly two thousand years. Jesus said that all the world, every nation, would hear the gospel before the end would come (Matt 24:14). The question is: Why doesn't everyone know Jesus NOW?

TGC Now is just starting to research how through the efforts of all the evangelical churches in the world we can more effectively get the message of the gospel to all nations, every person of the world. Everyone deserves the chance to hear the gospel without distortion. Let's not let our doctrinal differences get in the way any longer. We all believe these simple truths:
1. The Bible is the infallible Word of God and should be taken literally just as it is written.
2. Jesus is Himself God and is the only Son of the Father God (John 3:16, 18)
3. God created the universe, everything through Jesus (John 1:3)
4. The only way to salvation is through a trusting faith in Jesus. (Romans 10:9)
5. Jesus gave us the Great Commission

The Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20)
18Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
